I wrote about this a little while ago, but it’s finally hitting the news and bar promotion calendars: heard that a number of bars were planning a “pre-smoking ban” even tonight, because as of April 1, smoking is banned in all public restaurants and bars in Connecticut. I’ve also been noticing a lot of comments from smokers on the original post… I can empathize with you, but your arguments aren’t helping you win the fight which only hurts you in the long run.

In related news, Ireland – home to endless pints of a Guinness – has started a similar ban on smoking in their pubs… true story. New York City night life now ends at 6pm because of the loss of business due to smoking bans… false story (and often the root of failed attempts to argue this little bit of controversy.)
