Decided to go to the Fremont Fair with some friends this weekend… shot for Saturday but after circling for parking for a while (and still not finding a place to park within 1.5 miles) plans changed to Sunday. Parking still sucked but we ended up taking a bus outta downtown – made me miss subways but it was still very handy. Good fair and food, too, but what was surprising to me was the amount of political people running around there, registering voters, pushing agendas, and shmoozing for donations… I mean, on the east coast, they conduct government issues as our founding fathers intended: in backrooms with no visibility, no explination, and with as many donations as possible.
I was pretty surprised to find a Republican booth there – and without any remnants of a tar-and-feathering or lynching tree – shocked, really.
