About a week after I got a new title – and a new gamertag – I went ahead and ordered new business cards… I don’t use them very often, but they are still a requirement for conferences and the like. It was a rehash of the existing business cards: XBOX logo with “MGS – Tools and Technology” as the group. They came in a day or two after we go re-org’d into a new group with a new name:

XNA Game Platform Extensions or XGPX for short.

The fallout…

…has been somewhat interesting. My first run Xbox cards had all of the 360 MGS launch titles on their backs, which was cool: PDZ, PGR3, and Kameo with Halo 2 and Forza making an appearance, from the original Xbox days. My new run of Xbox cards look like this on the back:

And now there’s “old” cards *g*

The new cards tie into the new group, as TNT moves from MGS to XNA. What do the new cards look like? Can’t share those yet… if you want to see’m find me at GDC!

What’s XNA about? I’ll let XNA speak for itself: http://www.xna.com

What does this mean to Randy’s Job Satisfaction Rating? Well, nothing changes for me. I still have the same job and the same goals: I just get a new brand and a logo. The happiness level stays the same. Or goes up, since we also got a new T-Shirt, which is like passing GO in Geek money.

Some more stuff about this will shake out over the next week – something to look forward to, if you’re a games developer!
