I ask you this: how can San Francisco had good [New York styled] Italian food while most of Washington (or Oregon for that matter) doesn’t? They have some semblance of Italian and some items are good, but navigating a menu is like being in a limbo contest. Walked into a place here and ordered without a worry. And it was good. Not good, but good.
It’s just not fair.
Not fair!
I’ve heard stories about some New Yorkers who leave the city for a quieter life upstate or in Vermont. Then they complain they can’t find a decent place to eat. That’s one of the things you lose when living out in the sticks. Eventually, some of them sell their country homes and move back into the city.
Um, thats great and all but I live in one of the 10 largest cities of the US, not the sticks – not by a long shot! – and other west coast cities have good Italian… just not *mine!* :(
