Randy (or someone) PLEASE help me out. For the 1st time I’ve been able to get my application submitted in time to be offered an opportunity to get some seats under one of the partial season plans. My problem? I don’t know which of the sections I was offered is the better choice; seats in Loge Box 508 – row D seats 3, 4 and 5 or seats in Tier Box 614. I like the idea of covered in case of weather and 600’s are high up there although they are infield — also isn’t seat #5 in a differnt row from seats 3 & 4 in the loge box? What do you recommend? Sorry to be a bother and appreciate any advice – they’re holding the loge seats for me right now. Thanks – MJ

For the most part all of Loge Boxes are covered from the rain, sun, and foul balls. Tier are higher and out in the open at all times, for better or for worse.
From what I see on http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/nyy/ballpark/seating_pricing.jsp I’d say that you’d have a pretty good view from the loge seats… eye level with a line drive. You’ll lose some pop flies (tier is over you a little bit – not bad from the Row D) and in the left field corner. From the tier you’ll see everything and be in pretty good foul ball range, but you’ll be looking down on the players. I’ve been in the Tier Box only once (and never Tier Reserve) and it sorta left like I was watching a Nintendo version b/c of the angle… not bad, but different from where I’ve sat in Loge and Main Box.
In the case of Box seats, yes it’s usually 1-4 in a row and 8-5 in the next row, all part of the same box (4×2). Reserver seats go straight across 1-24 (or whatever). Having said that, I HAVE seen 1-3 7-4 in strange sections in right field but ONLY ever in right field… but I haven’t beein all sections of the Stadium – just most! Also remember that the Box sections are closest to the field and the Reserve sections are closer to the wall.
