Here it is. The night before I leave for WA. What am I thinking about?
Nothing, really. I’m hangin’ out in my sister’s condo, contemplating nothing much… except for Lucy Liu in Charlie Angel’s 2, that is.
All of this is still all so surreal. So much so that I marvel at someone like Rory, that was able to make a jump across the country, without stress or wonder spilling into his Blog. Well, some wonder at the uniqueness of New London and angst over flying, but not about the actual move itself.
I met my parents for dinner tonight… some tears on their part – they’re accepting it as best they can – but I’m going with the flow on this one, reminding them that I’d be back for the holidays. There hasn’t been much else to do around here lately, but keep on top of things, like the selling of my condo, finding an apartment, etc. I also saw my sister’s boyfriend tonight, which was good – him and my sister have been chatting up a local builder about nabbing a new house in a new complex in a neighboring town. Any which way you look at it, our run here [in the same condo complex] was going to be over this year, by design. She wants a new house – I wanted something different too, but I didn’t expect it to be on another coast.
I’ve opted not to think about the condo sale, lately. It’s been inspected, and that’s identified a bunch of stuff that needs to be addressed, but I’ll address it with cash. It’s just easier that way. I have a buyer who is shooting for an aggressive closing date and I’m all for that, too, so there’s nothing much to think about. I’m taking that as it comes.
I’ve also opted not to think about the job… yet. SDE/T for MSDN is… overwhelming to me, right now. The group covers a lot of ground and I still don’t know what part of that ground that I’ll be working on, so I need to see what’s up first. Besides, I’ve still gotta get through the orientation this coming Monday – if my brain can survive the first look at the massive expanse of Microsoft’s server farm… well, I’ll take that as it comes, too.
I’m flying out tomorrow, in the early afternoon… that’s a nice change, because I usually have to get to my local airport for a 7am flight – it’ll be nice to sleep in! I’m getting into Seattle after 6, and I’m staying somewhere in downtown this go around – sounds like an awesome building, honestly, so it should be some good times. I also have my entire set of footwear with me, so at least I know I won’t go shoeless for that long a time: I’ll replace my shoes as they go…
And now, starting tomorrow, is when it starts to come… to that I say, bring it.
I’m ready.
Good times. I’ll see you Saturday morning for breakfast.
Indeed – can’t wait to see if I get another Taurus out there or if I end up with a Tracker like I had last time :)
